Hi and welcome. I would look in to several guilds including mine. There are a lot of nice people playing and there are of course the few that suck, but you have that with any game.
A lot of people playing P99 played original EQ so, if you look at how long ago that was until now, you can guess their approximate ages, thus maturity. However, I am not saying just because someone is 35 or 40+ years old that they are mature...ha! Anyway, look at the guilds, check out their website, are they doing stuff that you would like to do (raids and such). And, before you make a decision do a little social experiment in game with people (get to know them and the guild they are in). Cheers
