your experience isn't necessarily the same as everyone else who was playing at the time.. many people who lived outside of urban areas never had access to ISDN or cable connections in the early 2000's

disable server-side filtering and rate-limit connections for a true classic experience. also the client should verify that you are not using a 16:9 or 16:10 resolution as this provides more horizontal viewing area than would have been available on a 4:3 monitor in 2001

No, it doesn't. I assumed the same thing you did until I learned otherwise. Only the vertical field of view changes; the horizontal field of view is fixed. See thread here: http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=168542. Point being: On our present client, using a widescreen resolution actually decreases your overall field of view, in spite of what you can see appearing larger.
