woah.

delete that file. you should never download dll's from websites unless you know for sure what you're getting. ever. never do that again unless you know what you're doing (i'm assuming you don't based on the nature of your question - if I'm wrong then i apologize).

Is your everquest folder in c:\program files\ or c:\program files(x86)\ ? If it is, move it to C:\everquest or something similar - doesn't matter where it is so long as it's out of program files.

After that you should be able to extract the .dll to your EQ folder without any problems. Re-download the latest changes file, and make sure your anti-virus is turned *off* when you extract the files. It may also need to remain off the first time you boot the game.

TBH I work at a computer store as the hardware specialist/engineer :P so software is not my strong suit :P, its out of the program files... its actually in the C:\Games and it wont work... should I just throw it in the c:\ directly?

Again make sure you delete the DLL you downloaded from internet. You can move directly to C:\ or make your own folder on C:\ or another drive. I would suspect the reason computer tells you file is in use is because the virus software has quarantined the file. Anti-virus software routinely flags these types of files. okay, I tried to throw the Dll from P99patches to the desktop and it still didnt work, I think I will just reinstall
