Why do you want to overclock your cpu? You're going from amd mid low price range to a much faster cpu in the first place. Kinda pointless. Having a 970 with a lower cpu/ram/mobo isn't efficient. You will be bottle necked anyways and won't even live up to the potential of the video card. Getting a i5 good combo will do a lot. You could have saved 150 on a video card, gone higher with cpu/mobo and sitll be able to handle a lot if not most games anyways.
Even if you get a cpu to overclock, if you get a crap motherboard ( pretty much all motherboards come with duel video card pci slots) overclocking won't work. If it does, it won't do much at all.
