Can't say I disagree with your reasoning.

I kept my research up and was able to make a few of my spells, but many of
the research spells I purchased directly because I wanted them right away
and they were pretty affordable. TBH, a bunch of the research spells I felt
I really didn't need, so I never bothered getting them. Putting points into
JC seems more worthwhile if you want to pursue that skill.

Also, I have about three of four level 40 research spells on my mule that I made, but
can't seem to sell them. I've been giving a few away...
