You ever notice the only people who ever seem to get clean are people who find god in their lives?? I don't believe in any religion mans created but it seems that the only people who really get clean and STAY that way are people who find god/become religious.

I have seen cases where people overcome their addiction claiming faith in god did it and I have met an equal amount who overcame the addiction and claimed they did it through the help of a friend or just pure will power. If you feel comforted that a divine being is aiding in your struggles so be it, but to completely rely on divine intervention is foolish and will lead you nowhere.... You need to be powerful enough to overcome your struggles yourself or you will get nowhere in life. Even if there was a god out there, what makes you think he gives a shit about you? Thousands die a day to brutal murder, famine, and genocide yet you believe this divine being cares about you even a little bit? That's selfish. If a divine being did exist his thought process would be so much larger than what we could perceive, we would be but ants to it.
