Well that makes sense. For some reason I was thinking it was like a tradeskill where you couldn't put in training points past a certain threshold.

But that definitely makes it more bearable.

Failed my ice comet combine tonight at 199 research skill FYI.

So, ice comet is or is not researchable on p1999? I'd heard it was not ...

The only way to do Ice Comet is by turning in your Staff of the Wheel and getting the No Drop Astral/Frost (or obtain the spell via Vox kill).

Trivial at 184

But you know that means you still have a .00001% chance of failing.

The 112 Trivial on Zam refers to AFTER changes were made to Research (Luclin). Classic Era it's a 184 Trivial with the NO DROP Astral/Frost from SotW quest.

1. Turned in staff of wheel & and identify stone
2. Got no drop Rune of Astral/Frost
3. Bought lexicon
4. Research skill? 199. Check, should be trivial.
5. Check on ZAM just to be sure. Done.
6. Put in lexicon and combine.
7. "You lacked the skills to fashion the items together"
8. ...
9. Log out and slit wrists.

K did my tartons wheel quest...AGAIN.

Research skill at 205 this time, going for ice comet combine.

Last time i attempted this my research skill was 200. And failed.

Pressing combine now.

Worked.

Have ice comet now.
