How much research skill needed for Ice Comet?
 

Once you do the quest and get the runes, how much do you need so that the combine won't fail?

Really? I'm at 102 research now and my level 34 spells are still not trivial.

Yeah what Uthgaard said... the only combine you can make on this server takes quested Rune of Frost/Astral from Tarton's Wheel quest.

I was just wondering if any wizards whom have already done this could mention what their research was at when they had a successful combine - I don't really want to collect the 10 rods twice.

I suggest 200.. 49s are trivial at that level, and might be trivial lower... but I'm not certain exactly when.

182 I think is trivial for 49 spells.

I was able to make my Ice Comet at 152. Maybe I just got lucky.

Christ, that is going to be painful as shit... but if it trivials out at less than 200... what would you combine to get your research to 200?! With capped out int I'm only getting a skillup every 4-5 combines. How is it possible that all the other wizards out there got their ice comet done?

Is it possible to fail the quest runes combine?

You can use all those skill points you have been saving and a few kp at your trainer to get around 185 skill.
