Is this an emulated server, and if not, does it require moneys to play?

I might try. Never ever played DAOC.

emulated. free. (daoc I think is f2p now, or at least free for 30 days or till lvl 20 or something).

I played albion on live and tried out midgard on uthgard server. I'll have to play a stealther on albion because I dislike their tank. Midgard tho... them trolls are beast mode tank.

I remember having a couple groups of Hibs at the milegate and a group of lvl 50 Middie trolls would come up and just steamroll us.

best leveler is necromancer on albion. literally solo for days. shit in rvr. Cleric is 100% group dependant. you want to mix in healing and buffing line. usually its a 36buff/32heal or 44heal/28 buff for grouping. There are 3 realms, albion, midgard, and hibernia. They all have different classes. If you are going to duo with someone it's best to usually go almost all buffs and some heals. paladin has endurance chant and healing chant which makes them great tanks and necessary for melee groups in RVR. merc is best DPS.

olerris/mrgalach/taleli and about 18 other 50's. I was infamous on the IGN boards. I was not allowed in any of the big 3 guild alliances because I perma camped caer sidi on my necro and 3 clerics. When Atlantis came out I camped all the big plat items. At one point I had 25 thousand plat. IDK what plat sold for back then, but I think I was the richest person on any server.

also, best group setup in old frontiers was usually 2 clerics as a base. one ~40 ench, other high heal line. The rest of group was usually 1 minstrel for speed, sorc for CC, and 4 DPS usually 4 ice wizards for PBAE bombs or 2 merc, 1 pally, 1 reaver.
