based on what I read on the wiki and the site, the base xp bonus is 20%

Rogue gets a 9% xp bonus and warrior gets 10%

On top of that Halflings get 5%

So would a halfling rogue get 34% static bonus or is it 14% increase after the 20% is applied which is 16.8 so really it becomes a 36.8% static bonus

Racial/class xp mods mean you need more/fewer XP points to make any given level. Halfling 95% * warrior 90% = 85.5% xp required (compared to a human cleric who has no xp mods at all, for example).

The 20% xp bonus that is active to lure EQMac people in is probably truly a bonus on experience points earned per kill. Racial and class bonuses/penalties affect the number of xp points needed to make a level.

I recently started back. Very low amount of time to play but atleast I'm getting any time compared to none.
I had a 36 mage already but was getting.bored of it. While I wasn't able to play I've actually watched some of your HS solo videos, Tecmos, among other p99 videos. It has inspired me to start an enchanter with my main focus on mastering charm solo. I'm only level 4 now but when i hit level 12 i plan on starting it. Enchanter is one class I have never played before, or really had a desire to play but got the urge to create one. I am excited to play one now and level up. I want that challenge of soloing and not just sending in pet and healing it. Everytime before when I played I had aspirations to raid the end game but this time around I want to challenge myself with a class I've never personally played. I was always the warrior on the front lines instead of the caster in the background.

I also want to master jewelcrafting for income and researching so I don't have to buy those spells. The practice runes kind of confused me when i read about it though. I haven't actually started jc or research yet so I guess in time I'll understand.

I already read the from 20% up to 50% then down to 20%

But I play a gnome necro and it doesnt feel like 50% increase over the classic game. What am i Missing?
When solo'ing, your pet takes 50% of your experience.

(Is it only if your pet does >50% of the damage or does it take 50% regardless of how much damage it does?)

Most people don't like TMO's dominance, but they don't dislike it enough that they're willing to drastically change their playstyles in order to get a piece of the action.
A dozen IB/FE QQing in VS pit all day would disagree!

tip: make sure to abuse tricks that may get nerfed someday (like invis pulling) to make yourself a small fortune before the nerf! then you can also claim you solo hard encounters when really you just abused an accepted glitch over and over [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

And again, there is much more to do in the game than kill said boss mobs.
Tecmos, this is why you and I have always gotten along in our minimal interaction.

There's content to explore, level 1 thru level 60. People should just experience it, try new things, recreate old memories, and enjoy the game!

I think one of the things that feeds a lot of the animosity on this server is that realistically, 90%+ of the population is experienced, savvy EQ veterans looking to come back and reach equal to or higher than they were able to on Live. When they come in here now, roll that first character, and see that there are dominant guilds already - they forget how long this project has been around and what types of root systems have already been established.

Do I agree with the status of the endgame on this server? No, I don't, but I still think in the long run there's far more to enjoy if you simply seek out challenges and see what you can do, how much you can accomplish and clear those challenges.

I'm enjoyed my time on this server since day 1, even with raid content frustrations and challenges between my guild and TMO/IB/FE/etc etc etc....it's the competitive nature of the top 10-15% from Live all converging into one server and elbowing their neighbors for space. It's bound to happen.

So long story short- I've always appreciated your take on things, Tecmos, and I enjoy seeing you try to combat the overabundant negativity that generally lurks its way onto these forums, and into the game.
