 | We can only guess. If you are on Windows Vista/7, you have to run Notepad.exe as Administrator, and then open the file. But that's just a guess. | ||

 | On Vista I had to completely change permissions for the entire Sony folder that's in Program Files. Trying to open the eqhost.txt file as admin still wouldn't let me change it. | ||

 | I am running Vista. I think that I am the administrator. I get the message: "Make sure that the path and file name are correct" and it won't change to Host=eqemulator.net:5998 as required. | ||

 | Just to be sure, did you right click on the file, go to properties, and uncheck Read Only? Though I don't remember having to do that myself. Try creating a new text file using Notepad, pasting in the appropriate info, and just saving over the old one. | ||

 | Move the whole folder to your desktop and make the changes there, this worked for a friend of mine and a few others [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Quote:

 | Vista/Windows 7: Start-> Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on notepad and select run as administrator. If the eqhost.txt is in a protected location opening notepad w/o elevated permissions won't work! | ||
