Caution before starting
Well ...I have not been around long but already kinda worried. At first I had thought I found this amazing classic based EQ ... only to hear about power tripping GMs. It seems any time there is a topic about GMs/guides or whatever it always turns sour. Some people give nothing but props to Rogean and the awesome stuff he does but from what I have been told about one of the other ones is that he is on a massive power trip and bans people for /shouting or changing peoples names that in no way violate the rules.
I just dont want to get settled in and find that ...well... goes without saying. What are some other thoughts on the subject? Will this post get me insta banned? Will it be deleted or swept under the rug? | ||

Not sure if your trolling or if this is serious question but ill give it a shot.
The GMs/Guides do a pretty good job considering they are all volunteers and do not get paid to do what they do. Thus far I have not heard of any instances were GM's went on "power trips". The only things I have been hearing is arguments about camp disputes really. And I personally have never had any problems with the GM's on this server.

I've never had any problems with GMs or witnessed any issues first-hand, and most of the posts complaining about them seem like idiocy. A few of them could perhaps be a bit more civil in their manner of conduct on the forums considering their position, but then again this playerbase is one half anonymous and the other half retarded, so it's hard to blame the GMs for being impatient with the vocal imbeciles.

No reason for anyone to jump all over this guy. He asked a reasonable question.
In my experience the GMs have never affected my play negatively whatsoever. I dunno if there is guild favoritism or not, but I am not gonna assume there is because Guy A, Guy B, and Guy C are whining about it. I'm here to have fun, not get caught up in any drama. Most the people that complain are the kind of people who would do anything to get ahead of others from what I gather anyway. Again that is an assumption, but I'm willing to make that one before I assume GMs who sacrifice their freetime and money to give us a FREE EQ server to play on are all evil jerks on a powertrip. Are they perfect? No, but neither are any of us. | ||
