Currently looking for something scary to read.

Gore doesn't necessarily scare me. I'm looking for something that really messes with the mind a bit, something with some surprising twists. My experience so far has been some Stephen King (don't really enjoy the majority of his stuff though), a little Dean Koontz, and more recently someone named Michaelbrent Collings that was pretty decent. Ok. Just looked up Blood Meridian and I realized I read one of his other books, "The Road". I like him so gonna check it out for sure. Also, hillbillies scare the shit out of me so that sounds like a good one too. Lol

What about Let Me In / Let The Right One In? The original (subtitled) movie was pretty amazing. The English version of the book had some editorial issues, but I still think it was a great read.

Oh, speaking of vampire movies. The only vampires that ever scared the shit out of me were in the original Salem's Lot. The movie - can't remember if I read the book or not. I was really young when I watched the film and had nightmares over it. Good stuff...

P.s. would love any other scary movie ideas too. I've also been looking for stuff to watch that could potentially scare the crap out of me in my vod menu and netflix but finding mostly mediocre stuff. Evil dead (new version) was decent and made me cringe a little. My husband is a fan of the original but I haven't checked it out yet.
