Currently looking for something scary to read.

Gore doesn't necessarily scare me. I'm looking for something that really messes with the mind a bit, something with some surprising twists. My experience so far has been some Stephen King (don't really enjoy the majority of his stuff though), a little Dean Koontz, and more recently someone named Michaelbrent Collings that was pretty decent. Just wondering if there are any other horror fans that have some suggestions. Thx. :)

Ok. Just looked up Blood Meridian and I realized I read one of his other books, "The Road". I like him so gonna check it out for sure. Also, hillbillies scare the shit out of me so that sounds like a good one too. Lol

Thx for the suggestions. =)

What about Let Me In / Let The Right One In? The original (subtitled) movie was pretty amazing. The English version of the book had some editorial issues, but I still think it was a great read.

Here is a good place to find scary short stories (if you like short stories): http://www.creepypasta.com/

Not interesting for everybody, but there are some good gems to be found. Quite a few stories have given me the kind of chills I look for when I read/watch scary stuffs (but then again, I am a giant vag and super easy to scare).

I always enjoyed these ones:

I mostly like stories like this cause they are short and I can read them on my phone (a few apps that include assortments of stories from that website).
