I know you guys feel you were "in the right" because you think you have fraps of us ILLEGALLY training, but you know damn good and well that it was NOT a full zone kite with Draco as is the spirit of Ambrotos' rule. You played dirty and I'm amused to see you stand by it.

Also, our puller didnt not get close enough to aggro your camp, and 0 mobs other than draco which was pulled from us came to your camp. So please post your fraps :)

Admittedly I don't make it to a majority of the raids in Fear because of RL obligations, so I can't speak to your claim of "never" clears; however, on this date, and under the prior rule, we were fucking clearing. There was no kiting as, what appears to be, the customary strategy for Draco. Luckily the rules have been clarified, and we know we can fire up the bard again! :)

a) no temple was agroed before draco's agro and death
b) none of the adds from our draco pull added onto BDA regardless of them stealing draco- we CCed the entire draco pull and then killed that stuff once we saw you steal draco-so our pull was clean
c) the referanced CT was indeed a failure from zone desync - is happend to BDA on the draco right before the CT...and for any IB to lulz at a desync CT failure...it happend to IB and DA many many many times...and IB usualy got a GM to rez them up...or atleast they did the 3 times I was there during the desync wars of yesteryear.

No. In keeping with your analogy: bda passed you on the highway. Whether that was because you were slowing down due to engine trouble or sloppy driving, or because bda sped, it is up for review. According to the bda side of things, tmo was weaving in and out of traffic, also a ticketable offense. The cops will issue a ticket (if one is warrented) on Tuesday (if xadion is to be believed).

There are two sides to every story, thankfully each guild watches their rear view mirror enough to tell the cops both sides and let the authorities straighten it out. Stop being so narrow-minded to think only your side is correct.

So many folks are willing to leave behind guilds because TMO is getting the most kills atm. Other guilds will never be able to compete if everyone's always looking to joining the top guild instead of building it.
It's nice watching how loyal the new BDA seems to be to its cause.

I can't speak for everyone who left BDA in the past (recent or otherwise), but a few of the recent folks'--including Swarky who quit BDA and the game as a result of BDA leadership's atrocious correspondence with many of its long standing members post VD-merger--reasons stem from bad BDA leadership (excluding Mirad, Starie, Natchingall, and maybe one or two others like Sadad). Unfortunately people like Tarathiel were afk for many months prior to the VD merger--who only came back because his douche bag friends from VD were joining his ranks--and as a result have no idea the circumstances for my leaving BDA (or others' reasons).

Like with all expanding guilds, BDA will win some (members) and lose some. I just hope that, unlike with me, these people who leave BDA for their own reasons and possibly come to TMO aren't castigated for it. After all, it is a game meant for people's enjoyment for whatever reasons. I also hope my long time friends in BDA (from live as well) are happy there, but if they are not, of course I would beseech them to bounce to TMO, where "real family" is present and where they don't have to worry about the leadership going off on them if they happen to have a friend or two in another guild or if they want BDA to be more amicable with other guilds.

As somewhat an aside, our guildchat is filled with talk of a big family. If you're sick of R n F in YOUR guildchat, think about a change for the better. Seriously, I've never been around so many family-types in an MMO.

i honestly didnt know where our camp was located becuase i was busy scouting draco, watchin him path, and i waited for a perfect pull it was full grave yard pop, full ct area, yet i managed to pull him with 6 adds (id like to see any of u fuckers do that). i thought it was south of the FF house, and i was mistaken. It shouldn't be a prerequisite to have a permanent cameraman running gigs and gigs of fraps to raid on this server. It's patently absurd, but that's an entirely different conversation.

I think these instances differ due to the fact that the camps are basically right next to each other. On the 7/19 encounter BDA was on west wall and TMO was east of the portal, basically separated by the portal hill. Those are markedly different camps imo as opposed to two guilds sitting on west wall only a few feet from each other.

The spirit of the ambrotos rule was to avoid the kiting of mobs indefinitely which trivializes raid content (I guess even more so since they're already pretty easy as is) and usually creates "accidents" when guilds are competing for targets. The specific portion of that rule said that you can pull targets, but only a short distance.

In fact when the rule was first implemented we (BDA) would engage draco in the graveyard because we were following the rule to a T. At one point we broke fear, TMO followed us in (as usual, you always let us break, but whatever - another conversation for another day as well) and pulled draco to west wall as we finished clearing the area and took the kill. After that ambrotos clarified that pulling a short distance was acceptable.

I'm honestly tired of having these conversations on every single encounter. Increase the peace imo.

The endgame on this server is just stupid. That's all there is to it. Mobs dying 5 minutes after spawning while each guild tries its best to follow some set of rules while we fraps/petition each other and make accusations of having the GMs in each others pockets.

Like here's a scenario that seems logical enough to me. Trak is ticking down to the last hour, both guilds mobilize. BDA says "ok TMO this is obviously going to become a shitstorm, How about TMO gets this Trak and BDA gets the next one?"

But instead it would be let's see who can FTE and let the GM sort it out after the fact while we accuse each other of being shady.

I know which one sounds better to me. I'm pretty sure it's the scenario where people grow the fuck up and act like adults instead of a bunch of keyboard warriors hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

The endgame on this server is just stupid. That's all there is to it. Mobs dying 5 minutes after spawning while each guild tries its best to follow some set of rules while we fraps/petition each other and make accusations of having the GMs in each others pockets.

Like here's a scenario that seems logical enough to me. Trak is ticking down to the last hour, both guilds mobilize. BDA says "ok TMO this is obviously going to become a shitstorm, How about TMO gets this Trak and BDA gets the next one?"

But instead it would be let's see who can FTE and let the GM sort it out after the fact while we accuse each other of being shady.

I know which one sounds better to me. I'm pretty sure it's the scenario where people grow the fuck up and act like adults instead of a bunch of keyboard warriors hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

This will never happen because TMO wants "competition". You need GMs when FTE is decided by <1sec. You don't need GMs when players come to their own agreements. Until TMO, BDA, and everybody else decides to not leapfrog each other, we'll need GMs. BDA, and VD before them, attempt(ed) to develop agreements on specific highly contested mobs while allowing free competition on the rest of the server, but neither guild has been able to reach consensus with TMO.

A rotation wouldn't even be hard. Rotate the major mobs that are always a clusterfuck (VS, Trak, CT, and Inny) leave everything else FTE and BDA agrees to stay out of VP for a predetermined amount of time.

Rotation would have the caveat that you have 30 mins to engage or it goes FTE that way there's never long gaps where mobs aren't killed.

No stupid RnF pissing contests, no fraps cameraman, little to no GM involvement, and overall a healthier raiding environment for the server to encourage other guilds to work towards harder targets. Right now what is there to look forward to if you're trying to see the endgame?

Not pointing fingers at anybody here, but this paragraph sums up the main reason why a lot of people dont' play anymore. Things like this just kill the game. Regardless of who gets the kill, FTE, what have you...doesn't matter. The "classic RPG" aspect of the game is just ruined at that point. Instead, everybody is level 60 and wants their piece of the pie. In short, P1999 is way overdue for new (and more expansive) content.

The longer we wait for Velious, the more and more people reach 60, just to find out how rediculous the endgame is. I think everybody is a little tired of fighting over the same things over and over again.

But, with Velious nowhere in sight...I myself am waiting for Guild Wars 2, heh.

There are too few encounters and too little loot to divide between what are now hundreds of people who would like to raid. Perhaps Velious will take some of that pressure off, but I highly doubt it. I have little doubt that dozens of people have already thought through and prioritized how to secure that content for their own guilds and clique groups within the guild. I expect the top two or three guilds, whichever they turn out to be, to expand to even greater numbers in order to maintain dominance across all zones and desirable encounters.

This is how Project 1999 has been and likely will be. Enjoy what you can. Laugh at the personalities and interactions. Treasure your rare loot. It is a simple exercise in economics to demonstrate that the scarcity of resources on this server cannot possibly be divided to everyone's satisfaction. There can be no equitable solution and conflicts will never end. If anything is done to force a rotation or multiply the availability of raid encounters, there will no longer be any challenge at all as 50-100 players converge to obliterate their target in less than a minute.

No, a rotation by a different name is not the solution. I don't know about you, but eliminating those instances of long odds and miraculous gusto and crushed spirits would take a real chunk of the fun away from this for me. You are advocating racing to have a certain number of people in zone; this sounds really fucking stupid! Like seriously, it's a terrible suggestion. You're just substituting some altogether arbitrary circumstance for a more telling set of circumstances. I guarantee you that if we adopted some such system that we would see the same level of retardation with claims as to who had how many and when just as we have seen in the past with the 15-man rule.

I know we've all bumped heads a few times, but I don't feel that there is usually a problem; usually things are pretty smooth. If you really want to simplify some of the hairy situations that require staff intervention, I think you'd do a lot more for everyone by jumping on the "let's automate some of the GMing" bandwagon and start advocating a system of FTE shouts and such that I've heard other people talking about. These actually sound like some viable solutions that could make life better for everyone.

In the meantime, let's just try to remember that we are all fat virgins living in our moms' basements, and that we really could just all get along! I don't like animosity, usually =) We can keep it amicable, hopefully, even in the face of a little raid drama.

There is stuff to look forward to.. if you're in TMO that is :D. VP is semi fun to raid and *almost* a challenge now that they fixed AoE and LOS.

Notice how its only BDA people clamoring for rotations? No one else is crying out for them. Not TMO, not the GMs, not the rest of the server. Just BDA - because they can't compete.

Rotations aren't going to happen unless you guys show you're able to get close to half the mobs without a rotation - then its to a mutual benefit that a rotation is developed. Until then you guys will keep getting what you deserve to; what you earned... which frankly doesnt seem to be a whole lot recently Chest.

Here's a little analogy that summarizes for me what is wrong with raiding on this server. Imagine you have a machine that dispenses cupcakes. Every week it dispenses 12 cupcakes, 1 cupcake at a time, at random times in a 96 hour window. Whoever touches a cupcake first gets the rights to eat it.
Now let's say you have two groups of 50+ people wanting cupcakes, and consistently getting the cupcakes less than a minute after they leave the cupcake-dispenser. Because only one cupcake at a time comes out of the machine, it's very easy for these people to monopolize all the cupcakes.
Other people try to get cupcakes, but these two groups stand really close to the machine and make it pretty much impossible to grab a cupcake as it comes out. Also, they're really condescending to anyone who doesn't get a lot of cupcakes, and berate them constantly for being unskilled, so they're not much fun to be around.
If you were a smaller group of ~20 people, wouldn't you get discouraged after a while?
Wouldn't you prefer a machine that dispenses all 12 cupcakes at once?
Wouldn't you prefer to not have to wait 4 days staring at the cupcake dispenser just for a chance at one single cupcake?

Variance to a small degree was Live-like. Still is for a few things. Even some trash mobs seem to have a couple seconds or so of variance to allow for sporadic repops. I guess to increase the danger level of backtracking a previously cleared area.

At any-rate, variance was still no where near as long or retarded as it is here. It needs to be shortened. In half or in thirds at least.

Admittedly I don't make it to a majority of the raids in Fear because of RL obligations, so I can't speak to your claim of "never" clears; however, on this date, and under the prior rule, we were fucking clearing. There was no kiting as, what appears to be, the customary strategy for Draco. Luckily the rules have been clarified, and we know we can fire up the bard again! :)
