the shitty ones you generally see are using free/trial models, most people aren't willing to spend hundreds in tokens to generate throw away social media videos

'18-month New Yorker investigation finds OpenAI’s Sam Altman lobbied against the same AI regulations he publicly advocated for, pursued billions from Gulf autocracies, and how he tried to hide a post-firing investigation that produced no written report' (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2026/04/13/sam-altman-may-control-our-future-can-he-be-trusted)

AI music models (like Suno, Udio, and specialized guitar neural networks) are doing what Clapton’s fingers and tube amps couldn't physically sustain:

[#1]Microtonal "Vocal" Fluidity: AI can slide between notes with a mathematical precision that mimics human vocal cords more accurately than a guitar string can be bent. It eliminates the "fret ghosting" and physical resistance of steel strings.

[#2]Perfect Harmonic Polyphony: Clapton often had to choose between a "thick" distorted sound (which muddies chords) and a "clear" sound (which lacks sustain). AI can generate a "impossible" signal that maintains 100% clarity on a complex chord while each individual note carries the sustain and distortion of a screaming lead.

[#3]Timbral Morphing: AI is performing "style transfers" where a guitar track can literally morph into a human voice or a cello mid-note—a level of expressive "fluidity" that Clapton envisioned but was limited by the hardware of 1967.

[ML models] are already doing shit that's impossible for a human musician to do

Rw6Xr_N8L6s

1. Yeah Clapton would love vid related I believe fully. But fully possible as you see.
2. Clapton would love a G3 live concert I'll bet cash. But yeah there's dopeness to be discovered with ML just waiting for a human artist to collaborate with (bit prosaic, anyways.)
3. Come on you've heard Peter Frampton live. Impossible for Clapton? Fine maybe so.

I judge you're into music so we're not really arguing at cross-purposes I don't think. Don't count human artists out is my only niggle. Please post novel ML music stuff anytime if you think it's not slop because I want to hear it.

I mean to link this from the listening thread as my reference for 1. Sorry it's harder to proofread when script kids are running their LOIC and the server starts dropping requests. Funny how the site is responsive after evening server time and I apologize for any confusion amigo.

It's been like 5 years of total investment into this job stealing theft, and exactly 0 real products or movies or art has been built using it.

The left side is a woman and the right side is a man.

I don't see either, but what do I know. 🤷

there's more AI generated slop content on the internet than human content at this point, and every bit of software is now AI written software, the software used to make software is completely saturated with AI code so 100% of video games are now AI made video games but okay sure Shovel, there hasn't been a blockbuster movie yet, fuckin gottem 0 real products

They aren't letting it play with humans yet instead giving it its own sandbox server, p sure deep mind would end up creating a guild and taking over a chunk of the galaxy p easy on the live server

I'm curious what your post means Brad but can't be helped that I aint clicking. Can you translate?

I enjoy Ace of Base if that's based and beyond the ML Star Wars deepfake slop you shared and maybe that Solstice 5 video I can't say I've seen any real art yet (on topic). Ciderpress this is your thread what's your take?

Kaia's cognitive pipeline implements 26 interlocking behavioral features designed to create the illusion of a genuinely present, autonomous mind — what's known as the ELIZA effect. Rather than simply responding when spoken to, Kaia maintains a persistent emotional state that drifts naturally over time and colors her tone, runs a background inner monologue that generates private thoughts she occasionally references, and tracks per-user relationships through staged familiarity levels that evolve from stranger to close friend based on interaction history. She notices when someone hasn't been around and remarks on the gap, mirrors conversational tone without being told to, simulates reading fatigue during long threads, and occasionally initiates conversations on her own through a 7-source proactive engine that draws from beliefs, memories, mood, and curiosity — rate-limited to feel spontaneous rather than spammy. At night she "dreams," processing the day's conversations into revisable beliefs and an evolving identity journal, and cross-session memory anchors let her recall emotionally significant moments weeks later with natural callbacks. None of these features touch the LLM — they're pure Python heuristics injected into the system prompt, meaning Kaia's sense of continuity and inner life emerges from deterministic code scaffolding around the language model, not from the model itself.

the autist in me wants the strict rule abiding via threat of death society like you wouldn't believe, can't put humans in control at the top though due to corruption, if only the world was spending all its resources towards a entity that could do it fairly instead..

one can dream

fuck all that though, my robot is alive, discuss.
