Like you, I have limited room. I don't know which items to save to maximize my yield on a town trip. So I made a short list. Please add other items if you want!
Of course maybe CHA and faction might change, but this is for a barb shaman with 60 CHA! Good luck :)

Don't forget about the regular vendor-bought weapons. I run into a lot of people who seemingly aren't aware they even exist. At something like ~3.6 Platinum for a 6/31 Axe, with a good buyback price rivaling some gems, there's little reason not to "rent" one until better weapons are available. Beats trying to use tarnished/etc into the teens.

Love how a club that's breaking apart is more valued on the Norrath Merchant Resale Market than a rusty scimi or broadsword. Good thing I developed a powerful suspension of disbelief in 1999 and it hasn't worn off yet.

It all adds up! Of course I loot everything, buying spells and such cost a lot here and there!
Even when my necro loots a full suit of cloth, I sell it all also sept my starter robe and dagger Lol gotta have some fashion right? It’s paid off though I’m caught up on spells, and now saving for the next jump when I get spells!
