I have no doubt I'll attract a lot of trolls for posting this, oh well!

I'm not usually one to rant about dumb encounters I have with people in game (Ive had my fair share). This guy however..... I had to share.

I've been been on P99 since mid 2010, and this is by far the best encounter I've had yet. I admit I am partially to blame for escalating it - but I give no shits when someone jumps my camp like that, especially when you have killed 100% of everything in my camp, and then intentionally get me killed by rooting / dispelling a named im trying to fear kite.

Ya ya, "it wouldnt happen on red!" Whatever, I'd just have been smoked on red instead of griefed - not much Id be able to do vs a 59 necro against my 47 necro on blue or red.

Tl;DR version: Darcnecro logs into Kaesora at church / Xalgoz area (which I've been killing all morning, and duo'd off and on with another necro). Darcnecro immediately summons a pet and proceeds to kill everything he sees (knowing full well that I am there), I ask him not to because I'm exping around the church / including xalgoz and his guards. He seems to understand, and stops for a moment, but then after I wont give him my 3 deadwood staves he then proceeds to rule lawyer up something about "line of site" for camp rules (whatever that means), and proceeds to kill everything, including inside the church.

Just before Xalgoz spawns (I have his timer since Ive been killing him all morning), I charm 1 of 2 mobs Darcnecro left up in MY camp (admittedly it was agrod on his pet when I charmed it, since he decided to take over everything, however it was my camp, and i cant kill xalgoz without a charmed pet and he killed the guardians / everything else in my camp that I usually charm to kill xalgoz with.... and since he killed everything else I charmed one of "his" mobs (from my camp).... the only mob left)

I then engage Xalgoz with snare / undead fear kite w/ charm pet. Darcnecro then proceeds to root Xalgoz and then annul him to drop root / fear / snare - Xalgoz then kills my pet and then finally, me (Neksar).

Now before you say "well thats just a big misunderstanding, he really only wanted to jump in and out once he had his staves". Wrong.

(His post history also reveals he was recently PLed all the way to 59, heh. I would accuse him of other "things" based on his post history, but thats against the rules.)

In my experiences that was the going rate with a few necros that I knew that basically spent a lifetime down there and in EC.

1. We have two contrasting stories and the information in each seems to support the claims of the other. Darcnecro seems to be a douche, but really just more of a typical type O. 2. As acknowledged in OP, this wouldn't happen on red, but not because the 59 necro would have killed OP. That is not possible, pvp is limited to 4 levels away from target. Also, griefers on red are largely uninterested in pve on red. It is highly unlikely you would run into one in an unpopular zone like this. The community also generally frowns upon pve shenanigans like trains, messing with others mobs etc. and if done in a popular zone will attract swift retribution in the form of pvp.

I agree it is disappointing that they get a pass, but I applaud Sirken's consistency an application of the law. If there is a prescribed test (or set of tests), then that test should be universally applied. If it fails to catch sufficient boxers, then perhaps it should be made more rigorous. It should however never be made so difficult that there is even a chance a legitimate pair of players might fail it. The tests/suspensions do their job though by minimizing boxing. Sure there are some who still do, but as they say, laws just keep the honest man honest.

It's my regret to inform everyone that leadership has decided to put the guild and it's activities on pause, indefinitely. We started this guild a year ago to be a semi-casual environment that would enable us to progress through the game without the need to be hardcore. Unfortunately the server climate isn't allowing us to pursue that goal without turning the guild into something we don't want it to be.

The server is very top-heavy with Rampage destroying everything and BDA/Taken zerging the scraps. In order for us to be successful as a guild we would need to mass-invite casual players to support our core of hardcore players. Since we don't do that it's put us in a difficult position where our core is burnt out from carrying the load and we're unable to field enough people for basic raids.

Instead of forcing the guild into a merger or to be absorbed by another guild we are giving you guys the choice to go where you want. It's always been your choice to do what you want and we don't want to pressure anyone to follow us down a path they don't agree with.

This 'phased' approach I implemented 8 days ago revealed a lot about our current state. Despite having over 137 members and 47 trials we've barely been able to self-organize groups to complete things. In most cases, people were just doing their own thing....and thats OK. We don't expect everyone to have an urge to progress in the same way as our core - but it sets us up for a difficult future when we're trying more complex raids and encounters if resists and gearing is inconsistent across the board.

However, the guild isn't dissolving. A lot of people want to stay in it and play with the friends they've made here and wear the HK tag with pride. You're free to do so as well. The primary difference here is there won't be a leadership team that helps organize and spearhead events anymore.

Right, because the small guilds would eventually take advantage of the situation again, which is why the rotation fell. The 3 big guilds were the ones keeping the rotation in check when the Bobs and GTs tried to ruin it, we were the muscle. So when the muscle got tired of being taken advantage of we offered an amended rotation that was more fair to the muscle. The smaller guilds said it was unfair and decided to fight about it. They lost.

You're so out of the loop. Let me break it down for you the way blue is currently constructed.

Rampage - kills anything and everything

Forsaken/Asgard - official alliance to push Rampage

Taken - next tier, biggest single entity not named Rampage

BDA - tier 2 also, less numbers than Taken

Divinity - relative numbers to BDA or Taken, unique that they're basically the only guild on pure Giant faction. Team up with Rampage for prime time AoW kills

Then you have all the up and comer guilds and 3-4 guilds alliances: Azure Guard, Europa, Anonymous, Omni

Then even below that you have the really tiny guilds that casually do stuff: Clue, Kittens, BH Pirates, IT SeaBass, etc


Point being, Divinity never went away, and they still have plenty of strong players, they just do their own thing. Very calendar focused, not a lot of batphoning, limited number of Windows they watch a week

Not upset or causing ruffles, just would like to be clued into the dynamic of the FAT/BDA vs. Rampage dynamic, because that effects the ripple down on how the rest of us are treated.

Rampage's current menu is every NToV dragon, Doze, any ST key dragon, all 3 city leaders, Statue/AoW, revamp CT/draco, maybe revamp Inny (probably not), Sleeper's Warders/Minis, sometimes Tunare, and sometimes Phara Dar. That means to compete for any of those targets you have to be balls to the wall high alert. Forsaken/Asgard had a good chunk of kills this past week but it was the first real chink in Rampages Velious armor. So to get that content you have to dedicate an absurd amount of man hours or have a highly trained raid force and have the proper infrastructure and experience with content, plus you get to play LawyerQuest non stop.

Instead of doing that Divinity opted to go Giant faction. They farm WToV in peace as often as they want with no competition. Taken/BDA opted for VP and some Velious and some Kunark (Taken went HAM on Kunark mobs, not that I'm blaming them for doing so, my guild just didn't have that much interest in the content) and then everyone else is chasing whatever is left.

Rampage was averaging about 30 major kills a week, which I'm sure is now less with ForsakenGard pushing them. Look at some of the Rampage thread bumps, 73 kills for 176 items over two weeks. That's why there's less room for the small guilds, if we (we the tier 2 guilds) want content we have to croot and contest and because there's a finite number of nexkbeards on the server, and because neckbeards like the path of least resistance it's going to be tough to overcome them.

You're so out of the loop. Let me break it down for you the way blue is currently constructed.

Rampage - kills anything and everything

Forsaken/Asgard - official alliance to push Rampage

Taken - next tier, biggest single entity not named Rampage

BDA - tier 2 also, less numbers than Taken

Divinity - relative numbers to BDA or Taken, unique that they're basically the only guild on pure Giant faction. Team up with Rampage for prime time AoW kills

Then you have all the up and comer guilds and 3-4 guilds alliances: Azure Guard, Europa, Anonymous, Omni

Then even below that you have the really tiny guilds that casually do stuff: Clue, Kittens, BH Pirates, IT SeaBass, etc


Point being, Divinity never went away, and they still have plenty of strong players, they just do their own thing. Very calendar focused, not a lot of batphoning, limited number of Windows they watch a week

Also, you can compare that to what other guilds are pulling down weekly. ForsakenGard got like 15 targets or something, Taken got Naggy plus few dracos and 2/6 VP, and we got 4/6 in VP a Talendor and a couple Traks.

The pie got much much bigger in Velious but that just raised the stakes. Guilds will push even harder for that top tier loot.

I think a huge opportunity for an up and coming guild would be Giant Faction WToV farming. I'm sure Divinity would coordinate days with any guild that wanted to do it, they're good folks to work with. HoT is fucking crowded, I'm not sure why some of those smaller guilds haven't embraced that plan, it's a nearly clear path of progression.

Yea it was annoying in there to say the least, was pretty stressful with just enough clerics to run the content and training and crap that was going on.

HoT is basically easy mode to farm most nights of the week when everyone is getting along and the gear for most is much better. If you aren't a guild with 55+ people in the zone it is relatively easy to get what you can/want within the 72 minute repop. We are there 2/3 nights a week and have almost 0 problems.

west nameds are probably next step for most.
