The DSM also classifies people who are nonfunctioning because of their current gender roll in society as being mentall insane. I.e. those who are male but wish they were female who won't own up to it, and it causes them depression or suicidal thoughts are insane.

So by the definitions of the DSMV someone who is a man, acts like a man, dresses like a man, but hates it and does harm to thesmelves is insane. THAT is what that is all about.

It is also a way to get the medical industry to pay for something that DOES alleviate suffering, i.e. transitioning into the other gender rolls.
