Default You can't use that command right now...

Anyone know what to do about preventing this? I think it's some sort of spam deterrent but I'm not doing anything overly spammy; just hitting some macro hotkeys while fighting mobs on my rogue like a hotkey that backstabs, turns off attack, pick pockets, turns on attack and one that evades, etc.

When this happens, I can't use macros (it spams my log with that message for each command in the macro), interact with items in my bags, open my character screen or interact with in game objects like doors or corpses (and probably other things).

It seems if I stop trying stuff for a bit it will eventually go away a few minutes later. Otherwise, I have to relog.

Insert pauses after each command. /pause # - the time is in tenths of a second so /pause 10 is 1 second etc:

Is there a minimum value that is enough to stop the game from thinking I'm spamming? /pause 1, /pause 2, etc. to prevent minimal downtime? I did have some /pause 1s in some hotkeys but I went ahead and added it to all. Guess we'll see how this goes and go up from there.

I don't macro much - most I've ever used is just 1 like you mentioned. Good luck!

hey - reviving this, I am getting this error and adding pauses in my rogue macros aren't fixing it.

Cannot click on anything when this happens, i can only use the actions menu to use skills. All hotbars will give me the error "you can't use that command right now.."

sometimes it fixes itself and sometimes I have to relog to fix.

You put the /pause in front of the command,
Not after.

/pause 1, /attack of
/pause 1, /do 7 (backstab in the first of the four button of combat tab)
/pause 1, /do 1 (pickpocket in the first of the six button of abilities tab)
/attack on

Try this, increase the pauses if needs be.

There is sometimes a delay toggling attack which is why input that at start and end.

It sounds like you have a ui / lag / sync issue

Try creating a level 1 halfling rogue with default UI and make an evade macro. Do you have the same issue?
