Default Int after cap

So, I was doing some gear experimenting yesterday.. and I'm at 210 int and have a mana pool of 2550..

In my main hand I'm using a Tome of Miragul (-5 str -5 dex - 5 sta, -25 cha, wis +6 int + 6 hp +50 mana +50) When I remove the tome, I go down to 2471 mana, which adds up to 29 for 6 int, and 50 from the raw mp.. Now, After this, I tried putting on a harvester instead (+5 str + 5 int -5 dex) and ended up with exactly 2500 mana.. Which means that for me 5 int is = to 29 mana, the same as 6 int is = 29 mana... so.. post soft cap.. is 1 int really not even worth 1 mana?

Gonna be that guy, the bug forum really isn't the place to ask a question with no backing data. If you think it should be higher or lower, provide proof with posts from the past and such. This should be in general chat as a question, or you could just google it.

Even better, put it in the Caster sub-forum.

Let me go ahead and clarify What exactly I was trying to bug report..

The way it is now it appears as though the int post 200 is calculating as a lump.. so from 209-210 (or a longer range) is a net gain of 0 mana, versus say 207-214, which is a huge jump in mana..

due to the mana calculations not being per-int after 200, but instead being per 2--4 int..

I'm going to go ahead and state, that the int per mana should be calculated every single int point, instead of every couple int points, and this is the bug in question.

http://www.thedruidsgrove.org/archive/eq/t-2944.html

there's a post there from 2002 showing the exact formula for mana per wis/int..

you only get mana increases post-200 on odd numbers. from there, it really varies on the amount per increase. to put it into perspective:
player x has 200 int, equipping a pure int item (no +mana) with the following amounts results in the mentioned increases at level 60
1-2=9 (+9 for +2 increase)
3-4=22 (+11 per +2 increase)
5-6=33 (+11 per +2 increase)
7-8=45 (+11.25 per +2 increase)
9-10=54 (+10.8 per +2 increase)
11-12=67 (+11.17 per +2 increase)
13-14=77 (+11 per +2 increase)
15-16=90 (+11.25 per +2 increase)
17-18=99 (+11 per +2 increase)
19-20=113 (+11.3 per +2 increase)
21-22=122 (+11.1 per +2 increase)
23-24=135 (+11.25 per +2 increase)
25-26=144 (+11.08 per +2 increase)
27-28=158 (+11.29 per +2 increase)
29-30=167 (+11.13 per +2 increase)
...and so on.

i've always thought that every even number post-200 here for int/wis being worthless was wonky, but i figured there was a reason for it being that way here if such a big thing wasn't being changed. i tried looking up evidence, but there were like 4 different formulas that people used to calculate post-200 int/wis prior to the soft cap raising up to 255 and so i just left it alone. it would be nice if this got changed though so casters and priests didn't have to balance their core stat on odd numbers all the time to get the most mana out of their items.
