Hey everyone im new..Help me out!!
So ive been looking to sink my teeth into Everquest for awhile now but all of my friends warned me to stay away from the official server. They said the game developer fucked the game up royally and the only way to truly experience Everquest in its glory is to play the classic version at project 1999. My question is, after i download Everquest from TPB and mount the cd. what do i do next? Do i just install the game and then apply the project 1999 patch before i open the client? Im guessing that if i open the client after install it will auto patch to the live servers. Correct?

You just need to change the login server address so it doesn't go to live to patch. That link is pretty self explanatory.

well honestly i dont like most mmo's. ive been playing UO for about 9 years and i played Rubies of Eventide until it was shut down. There isnt anything left for me to accomplish in UO. ive done all there is to do and ive already blasted through the last expansion.

I ask that because P1999 EQ is very old school and unforgiving. It can be a steep learning curve to someone new to MMOs. BUT, the community, despite what you may read in Rants & Flames, is actually very kind and helpful (especially to females [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] ahem).
When you get started and load up a char, maybe come post on here, and someone may get you going, because starting in some races & cities is really hard. We're always looking for new EQ addicts to share our obsession with. | ||
