His regime saved the country from economic ruin - those same economic principles he instated are still in use today.

Chile is largely considered the most success Latin American country and a lot of it has to do with starting up those rotors.

big yikes. In general if you're defending a regime, left wing or right wing, whose ouster resulted in a "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" you should probably re-think that.

Big ouchie guys, Pinochet killed Communists ruining his country and was likely framed for a lot more considering that, and this is a yikers guys, he was constantly under attack from human rights violations despite everything he did for the Chilean people.
