As for the ammunition...well, everyone here acts like RMT leads to emulators being shut down. It's the donations that get them shut down. It's the copyright violations often found on the websites. It's not letting players have freedom to do as they wish, it's all about the bens the operator is getting.
Didn't Winter's Roar have a system where you could "donate" for some power ups or donator items or some shit?

that sounds like RMT to me

I think you are confusing donations with perks. If you 'donate' for in-game items, titles, or services that is as good as 'purchasing' them. If you donate to receive nothing in return, that's a donation.

I think buying pixels is silly. Buying emulated pixels is just sad.

Did you read? I said shutdown for allowing RMT, not shutdown for any other reason...ffs
not sure but I think Winter's Roar got shutdown cuz sony was sketched out by "donations"

also if RMT were openly allowed Sony would probably have even more reason to shut down emulator servers, why give them more ammo?

By donations, I mean donations to keep the server running. If WR actually had microtransactions, then really that is one kind of RMT, more like the Farmville style than player to player RMT...I'd say it amounts to about the same thing as donating to keep the server running, but still a potential profit to the server operator.

Sony and most gaming companies really don't care what players do on emulated servers, it's when an emulator starts taking in money they get the lawyers out of the cage. They see the missed profits, even if it's only a dollar a month, and expect their cut...and since it is their intellectual property, they quickly want the whole pie.
