I want to be clear that the idea that a gnat and a human are the same, is very much like how anti vaxers are like, "there was a study where they tested the DNA and it changed it!"

This 60 year old study where they used gnats to determine genetic behavior during fertilization has been conflated the same way to kids on reddit thinking that a fetus is a bug:
