Healthcare = Get a job, don't eat shit and work out

I have a job, eat clean, work out, still not a huge fan of my private plan. Mine is 80% coverage following me paying a $4000 deductible. It’s nice in a major issue like a car accident, but that deductible hurts, man. And in many cases the private insurance provider (UHC for me) could challenge the medical necessity of any and every medical procedure I have done. Now have they ever once said something I had done wasn’t medically justified? No. Never once. And I’ve definitely had some stuff done before. When I had whooping cough 10 years ago I coughed so hard I tore a hole in my lung and was admitted to the ER overnight. That was a $22k bill
It’s the middle class that get the short end of the stick when it comes to healthcare in my opinion. The poor are set, because Medicaid is fucking awesome. Medicaid pays in full with no co-pays, and in my state it covers EVERYTHING medical and mental health, and it never challenges any expenses to my knowledge. From working in healthcare I know all healthcare providers love to accept Medicaid, because they know they are getting their money and right away without a dispute. I can’t imagine anyone who’s worked in healthcare or had Medicaid as their plan as a patient NOT say that it’s fucking awesome
So the rich are set, and the poor are set. What I personally disagree on is the economic viability of trying to give Medicaid or Medicare (which isn’t nearly as good in terms of coverage from my experience in talking to people who have it) to all. And once it’s given to all, would it still function as well as it does today or would there be lots of uncovered procedures and huge waits? If Dems think they can make Medicaid for all viable just by stealing from (sorry, cough,*taxing) the ultra rich they have another thing coming. I almost want to give them free reign to try just to see how high everyone’s taxes go as the rich flee the US and more and more costs get pushed down the ladder
