I think it was the airliner getting shot down that really did it. 80 dead Iranians and it was completely their own fault. Puts a lot of onus on them to keep things from getting worse, and gives Trump an out during the investigation.

If there had been any Americans on that plane we would have WW3 this morning.

None of us have a real idea of what's going on and all "we" do is point fingers based on propaganda; yet families suffer to say the least.
