It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

People who are A-ok with douchebag raid leapfrogging seem to be very butthurt about vendor leapfrogging.

If they weren't, there wouldn't be any no drop quest items in game

Everybody in those logs seem gross and troubled.. OP knows what he's doing.. Lack of any real conversation with the other clowns prove it. Others are still clowns. All of you involved need to take a break. Jesus Murphy.

Now I totally get that both of us don’t know the full reason as we are not original devs but...

name one quest that features text from individual turn in that isnt also MQable.

Im almost certain those text lines really started to appear often once Epics/VP key type quests came in w tons of no drop pieces. It was most certainly assumed that people other than the person who was doing the quest would acquire these items and still be able to turn them in to progress a quest for someone else.

That text appears on everything from bone chips and deathfist belt turn ins to epic turn ins. You also see the text when other players have completed quests that only have one piece to turn in. So i really doubt the reasoning was to make quests easily MQable.

They likely did make a decision not to patch them out or maybe it was just a limitation of the game at the time and couldn't be done. But I fail to see the point of making any quest items no drop if the intention was to allow players to essentially sell or trade them.

Those quests are MQable. Someone can turn in 3 bone chips and you turn in 1 and get the exp.

And quest items were probably no drop so the hope was at some point the person doing the quest actually did the encounter and loot the item but its silly to think Devs wouldnt understand there would be times a player comes across a no drop quest item for another classes quest. Yes original EQ was hard and unforgiving but it was also carefully planned in how questing works practically. Devs were players as well.

Every quest has the dialog in say when you complete it, single or multiple item turn ins. It has nothing to do with it being MQable. The only NPC dialog that's not in say is when you use a merchant.
