Did you mention that if you grouped you'd both get more XP?
this in a common misconception.

You get a 40% bonus for playing on red, and then 50% more for each person in your party.

If you are solo, you are gaining 140% xp. If you are duo, you are gaining 190%xp/2, or 95% xp.

You still only gain more xp by grouping if you are able to kill 50% more mobs with their help.

its just simple math. Do you like your games to hold your hand through them? Play blue99 (World of Warcraft) or do you like challenging games? pay red99

Whether you like red or you don't like red, this thread proves many people have an opinion on it <3

it's not like there's much meaningful pvp on red99

most of your gear doesn't matter there either

if you are a pet class, at most levels you don't do more than 50% of the mobs damage if you are killing efficiently with pet, (pet steals half xp in this situation) so grouping (at least a duo) is actually a net gain for them

I've never had a group member kill me and I only do pick up groups.

Other than the occassionaly pvp twink in mistmoore or unrest, almost everyone just wants to fill a group slot and level their characters until near 60. Then you will finally see some PvP happen.

I even run non-anon almost 100% of the time. Not much pvp.
