I don't mean it as an insult, but it isn't a contest now. The only opportunity RD has to contest at this point is if it happens during a perfect prime time window where you guys can get 50+ in the zone. Would you disagree with that? If not, how can altering the repops specifically so RD can fight for them not seem like complete favoritism?

At some point, the staff is going to have to decide if they want to blatantly interfere to artificially create competition or if they are going to leave it alone and let the chips fall where they may.

Unless I am mistaken at no point in the history of any live server or P99 server have server mechanics or the way the game operates been changed to help out a single guild get pixels. That's really what you're asking for man. You can continue to pretend its for the "better of the server" but how does it help Chewie and FoH? Random unguilded people? How about a new player that started two weeks ago?
Great point, but I would disagree with your conclusion. If you want a healthy server, i.e., one with more than 80 people, one with vibrant mass pvp, etc., then the status quo isn't working. There's a reason there's salary caps in professional sports, rules on trades, etc. It's in order to foster competition. If not for these rules, the large market teams would dominate, viewer interest would decline, and the product would die out.

I guess what I'm getting at is that when there's vibrant competition, we get close to the 200 pop number. When there's not, pop is flat and stagnant. What is the goal of this server? To be a two digit pop wasteland, or to become something much larger where people want to play on it? You're right in saying this server would never have lasted on Live. So shouldn't we view it the same way on p99? It's not working, it's broken. You have a vocal minority on the boards essentially arguing, "who cares that it's broken, man up." That seems dumb to me.

Where that analogy fails is there is a constant stream of "talent" flowing into a professional sports league. Do you honestly think if they instituted every possible change you could come up with it would do anything to the server population?

If they flipped this shit to blue and kept the exp bonus we'd have 600+ people on TOMORROW. Nobody is coming man, and it has nothing to do with Nihilum. Our best bet is to get old players to come back when Velious hits. I think we'll hit 250+ the month after it lands.

We need to stop using population growth as a basis to any improvement strategy. Every uptick in population has been tied to a specific one time event, there is no organic growth under normal conditions.

We are not asking for uncontested repops. We welcome you guys to try to contest at 6am. Stop asking for gms to change he spawn times, this is how classic eq works. If you want a game that always has mobs up during prime time, I invite you to check out www.worldofwarcraft.com

I GREATLY disagree with your 250 pop assessment. If anything, red may dip even further as people flock to blue. On blue, there's plenty of content to satiate a shit load of players in Velious. On red, all it takes is one group with faction to completely cock block and shit on people farming Kael arena / halls of testing, etc., etc. The massive amounts of grief possible in Velious will scare off all but the most bearded of necks.

p.s.: this was predicted and already covered by the CLASSIC rallos zek PNP which forbade the engagement in pvp of another raid force, if you're engaging force was insufficient to kill the mob you were cock blocking

You guys had your shot at repops like twice now when the server reset and nihilum wasn't on the ball and you guys could have easily had a good head start but you didn't take advantage of the situation. As Agatha said it already it doesn't matter if variance is added or not, you would not be able to cut it. EQ is from 1999 and to here will still be a poopsock neckbearding game. You have a job, Cant make a 3am, 6am, 9am raid? Well that sucks for you, People back in 99-current COULDNT DO THAT EITHER only some could. The fact is you have more of those hardcore neckbeard players bottled up playing on one server then any of the EQlive PVP servers EVER did.

Go play World of Warcraft or some instanced game where you guys can have your saturday afternoon instanced raids where you all have time off from work or RL/family obligations. This is as classic as it gets, neckbeards who can login whenever/wherever get it done.

I get that you're incredibly butt hurt by the actions of a few individuals. However, we still regularly have close to 50 people for our scheduled nightly raids. Lite barely plays. No one has been "toxic." You talk about loot and what not, but yet 90% of all loot has gone to Red Dawn players, though there is no real distinction anymore as we have merged under one flag. We're all on the same team. Those who are playing are committed to our team, and understand we're only as strong as our weakest player. I get that you like to embellish and fabricate agatha stories for enjoyment, but there really is not an ounce of truth to anything you stated. I control the DKP system, the website, the scheduling of raids, administration of guild such as who is invited or booted, etc., etc. The buck stops with me. You can claim there's a secret cabal or what not, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Also, please stop talking about how Azrael is toxic when half of Azrael is currently tagged Nihilum. Thanks!
