You want to save up for that Vulak item and go all in to get it first blowing your DKP load? Go for it. You want to go for the medium upgrade approach scooping up some nice upgrades that aren't BiS but good enough? Go for it. You want to be the hoarder who waits to get items but then can scoop up a lot of them? Go for it. It forces you to make decisions about how you want to gear your character and what's important to you. On live, I wanted the headed off The First Creation to create the Shawl 2.0 which was the best item in the game. I saved up an expansion worth of DKP so I could be the first world wide tank in the game with it. I dropped my entire DKP load to get it, while others got many more upgrades than me who decided to go for different approaches. Bid DKP allows you to decide the approach to take.
