No confirmation that I have seen but I feel fairly confident they will do beta. That's the best way to promote a new server and they've said they intend to promote.

People are wanting updates badly, including myself, but they probably won't come until a week or two before beta opens. That could be another month or two.

If you are the kind of person that needs to be immersed in some type of game and are waiting for this server to be your next game.... I suggest finding something else for the time being.
