Agree on that, but also agree that the exp grind here is simply too brutal - particularly with all of the pointless hybrid/race exp penalties.

I've spent 15+ hours on my paladin (having turned in 60+ gnoll fangs for exp), and I'm level..... *drum roll* ..... eight. Level 8. I'd say 95% of the players in the Qeynos area skirt PvP and even help eachother simply because they don't want to make the early grind any tougher than it already is.

...

The divide between the casual and the hardcore player is going to widen, which will mean a gradual decline in people stuck in the early levels. I really feel like the server would only stand to benefit if the 1-30 grind was increased substantially (the 30-50 grind could stay brutal), or we're going to see casual players that are level 18 four months from now with nobody to group with and nobody to talk to.
I have to agree w/ this. Boost 1-30 xp, maybe 50% like we had for that one Sunday after server downtime. Or add a 50% bonus to all the "starter" dungeons - runnyeye blackburrow crushbone mistmoore unrest etc. I know some of these already have bonuses, but increase it.

If you think low level population isn't a problem, roll a level 1 warrior right now and see how difficult it is to level and group. If you weren't in that first wave of new players you've basically missed the xp boat.

STOP WHINING
good point

edit: the largest obstacle isnt the game, it's the community. shutting down the pvp forums might help population

They never said it was going to be easy. Not sure why you want Blizzard to come take over management so they can give you rest exp and double the exp from mobs.

Go cry somewhere else.

Few reasons for this...

a) grind is horrible... I was as hardcore as it got in Live, and well 10 years later responsibilities change, odds are people were playing other games to, and it just equals out to an overall frustrating experience... there have been times that I have logged on, played for 6 hrs and actually was further behind than when I started...

b) star wars, wow patch 4.3, etc things will continue to dwindle as GW2, diablo 3 etc come out.. this server imo was a year or two too late... 2 years ago, if it would have had a great pop

c) people cheating and absolutely nothing being done about it... y should I legit grind to 50 with work, school, gf, etc when the nolifers even tho they have 16+ hrs to play the game still go out of their way to cheat to lvl?

And there is a plenitude or other things that have turned me off.. but oddly enough I haven't stopped playing.. why? because EQ PvP at it's highest level is truly a rewarding experience, and a ruleset that doesn't exist in current games..

The VZTZ vets use to get excited to see the +200 number on the server login screen and that was generally around 110 people playing because of two-boxing. Right now we have around 350 at peak times. Around 200 is where I see it going and that will be enough.

Nothing in any game out right now is going to give you the experience like Raid pvp for Vox or Naggy. Or other big guild fights in Fear and Hate.

Stop fucking whining...stop anticipating some shitty new game. I promise you if your here already that you aren't there target audience. You want more from your games and I will see you back 1-2 months after the release of SWTOR or whatever it is. Go give them more of your money. So they will keep making shitty games you really don't want to play.

Respect the grind. Respect this game. Or GTFO.

I'd play, but I might forget to fleet save one night...

And that would suck.

Also, no point in playing with all the known cheaters that have already been caught but get to continue to play.

Simply not worth the time to grind to 50, just to have to deal with the same hacking shitbags I dealt with on VZ/TZ 1.0-4.0.

On the plus side, the server can prolly survive with 75-150 people. Which is what it will end up at around March / April of next year.

Don't give up brother.

Learn to make it fun for yourself. I understand that some people might go too far with some things and make it seem worthless to level legimately but it's all an adventure.

The biggest question you need to ask yourself is:

"Why should I worry about what someone else is doing if it doesn't effect me?"

I run around tee-heeing everywhere, having a good time. I've lost so many levels to pvp or just dieing to shit but I'm not going to complain about the exp grind. The journey of leveling to max level was most of the adventure for any game.

Just learn to make the most of your time. I don't have a lot of time to play while deployed but I make it worth while.

Because god dammit, I don't know about you but I just love killing moss snakes.

1 dude supposedly cheated his way to 50!? and this has made you stop playing. No you aren't playing because you're a whining ass little bitch who could be xping right now but is wasting more of there time in life posting on a forum where they've admitted not wanting to play.

You see this is the problem pals. More pewpew less qq

I agree with you EQ PvP is fun.... trust me I've played enough of WoW PvP [You must be logged in to view images.
