If my house were foreclosed upon and my car repossessed, if I had to try to battle uphill against a swarm of other jobless persons while I was trying to make ends meet from living on the streets without access to fresh changes of clothing or a daily shower, shit, I might just start drinking all day too.

Not to say that all homeless people are as deserving of help as someone like that. But that's also not to say all college students are not deserving of help if they really need it.

What I do know is that you have to break the law to keep your food stamps by lying about the income you make, which in my eyes, already discredits any potential argument you might make about "REALLY" needing it.

I also know that if I was working 28 hours a week I'd sure as shit be able to afford to feed myself without having to lie to get government handouts. Would I be able to feed myself to a standard that I would necessarily enjoy? No, maybe not. But that's the entire point, isn't it?
