I think our emergent fascism will be far worse than the German one, in the long run. I think it has learned to disguise itself as freedom. I feel the same way about the military, I am doubtful most of them want to kill their own countrymen.

Dilemma: You are a town mayor, and have been notified by the federal government and your governor that you must accept 5,000 Afghani refugees. These are old-school rural Afghanis, for whom non-consensual sex with small boys is not only legal, but considered a cornerstone of their culture if not a human right. However, they absolutely refuse to part with this aspect of their culture, and tell you directly that they will pursue non-consensual sex with small boys in your town. Do you:

- Allow them to maintain their cultural status quo, thereby condemning a number of local children to traumatizing sexual assault resulting in massive generational trauma.

- Force them to abide by the laws of your land, thereby stomping on their culture and rights.

Congratulations, you're a fascist. You forcefully take away the rights of someone, someone for whom these rights are not only self-apparent but moral. And you do so from the point of view of your own arbitrary morality. And it's arbitrary because, as should be obvious, if they consider rape OK then there is no absolute moral compass in the world.
