Let’s give an example of a recession. The Regan recession was in part to very high inflation. We have high inflation now but our DOW and economy continues to grow from 30,000 to almost 36,000. An example of the management of inflation (thou I know unemployment was very bad during Regan years too)
Bluntly put the Trump administration handled Covid terribly even with Jared Kushner being quoted saying they did nothing because it was only affecting democrats blue states.
Similarly other equally or arguably worse epidemics “could” have occurred during Obama’s administration “that could” have become pandemics in the US during Obama’s administration but didn’t. Could Covid have been the perfect disease for a pandemic to get out of control in the US? Maybe but for Trump’s administration only infectious disease he had to handle he did terribly bad with managing it.
What Obama administration combated was Ebola, SARS, swine flu and zika outbreaks all happened when Obama was in office each of them were handled by the Obama administration and each of them affected the economy at that time but nothing compared to if any of those diseases were mismanaged as the Trump administration did with Covid. Some may say that the disease the Obama administration had to manage weren’t to the same level as Covid. I would argue some could have been a lot worse.
