All I like to do is raid because tanking is very fun and there's no other experience like it. Groups are boring to me, just a level grind. After 30 mins of grouping I'm ready to swap to another alt. Raiding especially during quake, omg it's so fun! Epic fights are also fun /nod

I guess I shouldn't be mad at other people for enjoying raiding.

I am mad that all MMO developers just cater to the raid/progression mindset though.

I do agree raiding and tanking can be fun and cool.

Super simple instance dungeon grinds. Pass.

Give me Guk, Perma or Sol anyday of the week. Much better level designs.

I think it is time to classify raiding, as it is done on P99 as 'self harm' and limit each raid guild 1 hrs time to raid 1 mob per night.

It's not only self harmful people engage in raiding because they are bored and unhappy and nacissistic. So it stems from them wanting to deny pixels/ or have more pixels than other players and not from them wanting to group with other players or do teamwork things or help other players.

A mandatory 8 hour per week guild rule should be implemented by guilds for their players to 'do good works in the name of the Lord Brad' in which they earn some DKP reward for helping out newbies and players wanting to kill velkators mobs, not solo on a shaman.

Praise be to the Lord. And shall you be forever locked in raid train DA bounce unicorn hell should you selfishly and egotistically deny these intrinsic facts, and laws of Everquest.

I forget which artist did the cover art, but they didn't have Keith Parkinsons touch with it. Still pretty cool and I prefer it over *any* digital artist baloney made today.. but still. It wasn't EQ.

Things were going into decline hard at this point.

LDON was alright and they were cool, they were pretty to look at.

They were the beginning of wow dungeon loot tubes though.

They felt like a bit like the eq equivalent of amateur soccer.

You arrange with a few of your mates a kick around for 90 mins or so and you're done. It was also easy to get a pick up group quickly too, without being expected to hang around finding a replacement.

EQ can be a bit of a drawn out affair, and the 90 min dungeons of LDON made for much healthier playing habits than spending ages searching norrath for groups, do your session, but feel compelled to stay another hour while you try to find your replacement.

Read: Not EQ.

Besides, nothing obligates you to stay with a party for 5 hours. You can join and look for a rep after 30 minutes, be out in an hour if you want. No one was considering 'healthy' anything in the 90s, only cool factor, which LDON is not.

Note: Talking about health in games today, with professional adult gamers who do it for a living (lol).. I mean, the industry is fay gate.
