But how well known is that one of the senior members of <TMO> 'sold' large chunks of the guild bank before quitting the server.

I will bread crumb it: his name was Durison.

Discuss, was it the greatest cover up in P99 history to save guild reputation, or is it generally well known know what happened?

u are quite retarded and with bad info , let me u explain u it with some details .
Tmo merged with durison guild , tmo had not even guild bank just few scraps of poa quest items .
durison quit and sold the da guild bank after post merger first tmo trakanon kill(before that tmo and durison guild had scored allready 3 kills as joint raids agaisnt TR).
it wasnt a secret and it was quite a in guild joke back then.
fun fact u can still find loly (back then tmo guild leader pre zeelot , and some screenshots of fazlazen about it on forums if u dig enough).

considering jeremy briefs and fazlazen where some of the few actualy good pvp players on the guild probably not very smart move.unless u count penisfinger wich was a backpedaler toad .
