Generally when theres a vowel after a g it sounds like j.

You’re supposed to learn this in first grade i think

"Eejis" is accepted as common parlance along with "ayjis", although "eejis" makes more sense if you consider words like aether and the name Caesar. Hard g hasn't been used in aegis since ancient Greece, so I'd avoid that pronunciation outside of the context of EQ where everything is pronounced wrong.
