I repent. I see now that Baler (a real town ((and body of water)) in the Philippines) has intended to sacrifice himself all along for our naming sacrileges. Obviously taking the name of a real world place is not "thematically consistent with the high-fantasy environment of EverQuest". I'll light a candle in your name, Baler, or Plutrien or whatever terrible fantasy name you get. Pras.

A player character name that could potentially be, letter for letter, another player's hometown? Riiiight. See you in elf-court, Plutrien.

I think we need more pictures of people deleting their characters and rage quitting the game over their name being changed. That was hilarious

It's peculiar they'd suddenly start enforcing it after people had established themselves with these names for years. Clearly no RnF post began the purge, as we have mocked the policy in the past even in the server section ages ago so I am just wondering what the real reason is, why they started to enforce it. I am kind of stymied by the glee some people seem to get from it. This has had no impact on me whatsoever but I am trying to wrap my head around why a few select people trumpet this as if it's the next coming of Christ. As for Baler and others, I guess I am supposed to congratulate you guys on your happiness with the guides for enforcing the naming policy which had nothing to do with you wanting it to be enforced, congrats! Trying to be happy for you here. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] P.S. Not one of my character names has been changed! (Yay for inventive fantasy driven names on my behalf.) P.P.S. Even Bahgtru was untouched, which clearly is in violation btw! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

i wonder what the split was between actual characters and tunnel mules. policing the tunnel is a waste of time unless you start suspending for mild but repeated violations(please do not)
