Since scout is a static spawn, can i show up before anyone else and claim her as a camp and kill her instead of doing a turn in? Sort of how Blood Guard likes to claimed enchanter NPC mobs? I think ill do this and fraps it and then petition whoever tries to take my camp.

Whats wrong with mid/low levels winning scout?

For starters they'll get more levels use out of the item [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Lowest I seen win was 41 and I was happy to help them with the kill.

If you aren't happy with who won then don't help them. But if you don't help them don't be surprised if the help is thin when you win.

I'm deeply, deeply hurt by your cutting and insightful post. Also who are you? A nobody who hasn't contributed anything useful to any discussion on this forum whatsoever, but who loves clickfests for ... reasons?

Yeah, deeply hurt.

Good idea. You were just innocently trying to get some XP. The others would not be able to interfere for *any* reason, or it's a petition. Might want to preemptively make a /petition macro to save time.

Jeez man. You really are thin skinned. I'll even say that was a poor troll attempt, but damn if he didn't get riled up a bit.

Trading one players plat/time for another player's time/plat is central to EQ. This is the game where higher level players can convert time to plat by power-leveling or selling acquired gear, or lower-level players can convert time into plat by selling bone chips, potions, or even plat itself (to players farming Ice Giants). Hell, this is a game where you can effectively buy your epic weapon from others (again, trading plat for time).

All we're really talking about here is a player with plat buying slightly better odds of being able to attempt a fight, and lower-level players profiting from it. It sucks for poorer players (like most things in EQ), but they still get one unique advantage here that they don't get anywhere else in EQ: a free kill force.

Compared to (say) a non-AA Shaman who has to farm 100k on their own to get their epic, a scout player having to either take a slightly worse random chance (and getting free player help), or having to pay for a slightly better one (and then provide their own force) just doesn't seem worth worrying about to me.

True, but that brings up an interesting question;

If one is legitimately NOT upset, how do they go about proving to online strangers that they aren't? Or does the urge to prove that automatically mean you're at least somewhat upset? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
