The previous patch to their attempt broke mob regeneration, that was what was considered exploiting, however, anyone killing anything at that time was exploiting according to that logic.

Mass rez was not a consideration by the design in a large scale (200 people) force.

No design anticipated that 30 clerics would use cleric epic en masse to keep a certain amount of DPS on a target. Its a cheat, its an exploit, and its tainted since it was not intended by SOE to be killed.

If they didn't want it to be kill-able all they had to do was flip a switch. They didn't think anyone would be able to, so it was given no loot, but the players were given the tools to kill it, and when enough of them worked together they did it.
