Voice chat is good if you have a guild that actually recruits quality people and enforces rules within it too. 100% agree with you need voice to be top tier. Not to mention Voice shows emotion more than text and allows to build longer lasting friendships in games, quicker reactions, etc.

Mumble is far superior than vent or ts imo because of its voice volume is adjusted on the fly by the client to stop screaming voices etc. Also being super minimalist and secure.

Confirmed online checkers does not require voice chat. RL checkers might have some voice chat involved, but not required.
