i made the mistake of getting my methhead brother in law a job because he was "trying to get his life together". 3 weeks later he met a heroin junkie on a job and a week later he was almost ODing shooting up heroin.

Was a solid effort of coming clean.

Money+Drug Addict = no self control.

Good on you for being a strong friend to someone who needs one. Flip side, my sympathies for your dealing with watching your friend crumble in front of you. Many people walk away when most need just that 1 friend who keeps pointing in the right direction or is that shining light in the darkness.

Why does it matter whether it actually happened or not? This IS the internet, and the story has no direct bearing on the rest of us regardless of whether it did or did not happen.

Change locks. Tell him to call the cops to retrieve it. I think he has 30 or 45 days before the stuff is deemed abandoned and you may claim it.

I had a similar issue a year ago.

nothing major to update. he hasnt returned for his stuff and i havent heard from him. ive changed the deadbolt on the door. far as i know hes still at the motel with that girl probably sitting in a corner doing whatever it is junkies do.

Having a similar situation a long time ago. Eviction laws are ridiculous and nuts. You could've got a restraining order with a move out decree. They would've issued a temporary on the spot and had the police escort him. This day in age law enforcement , least here in Cali... Don't like to touch shit like this , unless you got a court order. I literally had a old friend of mine move his shit in my house randomly one day while I was at work. When I had the police remove him , they wouldn't do shit. I had to wait until the weekend was over to go to the court house and file shit to get him removed. Fucker got a free hotel stay over the weekend while prancing around as if he won the battle of the wits. Drugs bro drugs

---UPDATE--- said person has retrieved his belongings (most of it). he left some of his stuff here which is now somewhere in the landfill. his newly beloved meth addict girlfriend missed her period LOL. as far as i know he is still living in the same motel with her.

i was at the american legion for haloween where another post member informed me that she had seen my "friend" at the gas station, and that he was telling the people inside a twisted version of the story that where i live is actually HIS place and that he kicked ME out and yada yada, little did he know my friend was standing behind him listening to his bullshit the entire time, i guess he didnt recognise her. she let him finish speaking and then let everyone know he was lying. apparently everyone in the store was wondering why he was even talking about it in the first place because not a single person knew who he was, and they could all tell that he was on something, my guess would be it was his drug of choice, meth.

LOL i mean how far gone does someone have to be to tell stories like this. im pretty sure i was not kicked out of my own home, that my name is on, where my mail and bills get sent to, and that i pay for, by someone who doesnt live here... it doesnt make sense but then again i guess it doesnt have to and it never will.... some people man.
