QFT

Being armed has never prevented crime - just like having a strong military has never been a proven deterrent of invasion or otherwise hostile action

Owning a gun just makes you more likely to hurt friends and family with it and/or makes it easier for it to end up in the hands of someone else who will.
Lol what a total fucking moron.

Is the NRA against the police force use of militarization? Or is the right to bare arms to protect us from the government just a red herring?

Guns weren't ever a means to prevent crime from happening other than through a fear factor, but rather protect your own life. Imagine this...

Burglar does a B&E on a family's house at 2:00 AM while they slept peacefully, waking up the one who has the firearm locked. (Mind you, the crime is already in progress, guns did nothing to prevent this nor could it without knowing it was going on.) Burglar chances upon a child's room as he enters the hallway, as he enters the room, he is shot in the waist. BOOM just saved the kid from getting raped.

Regardless of the scenario, guns are dangerous, amazing but dangerous. Nobody can disagree on the dangerous part without looking like a complete moron, but it still boils down to the individual that is holding the firearm.

If you have a criminal with a gun, chances are he's going to commit crime with that gun. If you have a decent human being with a gun, chances are they are going to do some good things with that gun. Guns are not the problem here. It is people.

Soo in saying that, let's just ban stupid people.

I'm just going to build a giant gun and use its barrel as a house, nobody is gonna break into that bitch when they know all I have to do is pull the trigger and BAM everyone inside is dead.

See if guns don't prevent crime then.
