That cycle can be broken, though, human nature fuels it. The problem is that those with the ability to do it do not possess the will to do so, and those with the will to do so do not have the ability to do it.

The only way I see them being able to have any actual impact on this server as of right now is to wipe it and start over.

This would force everyone into the same level brackets and promote grouping. This also however means that there is a small window to actually participate in the groupage.

They are promising big changes to promote server growth and yet there has been no indication they are actually doing anything.

shutting down the server would be a shitty move.

i think a wipe would be ok, considering that one post about how early exploits and rmt TOTALLY FUCKED the economy. either that or purple finally(if its done right, otherwise can be failure).

there are some dedicated lifers who only play EQ. lots of people from other EQ servers have moved here after their home was shut down (MAC server, etc). if p99 shuts down, its only a matter of time before another emu is set up. its just simple supply and demand: if you shut down the supply, that does not remove the demand. not to mention that Rogean promised that the server will always be here.. so that would void the server's integrity and even if they started back up, im sure the population would be seriously crippled.

tho i must say, Zade leaving seems like a really bad omen.

I was just giving examples of changes that might be coming. I really have no idea what they are even talking about and am personally happy with the server as is other than exp rate. The point is there is absolutely no reason they wouldn't be able to deliver on these ideas since it isn't going to be content based.

Yeah level 4 range probably wouldn't be the greatest without pvp being more meaningful.
