I'll toss them a bone and guess that they are hopeful that the government will someday get out of bed with the corporations and back in bed with the people. From what I've been told/read, the USA was a great place pre-cold war. Even during the first half of the cold war some great achievements were had. 1970?, fuck it all.

I am of course talking about the administration and the whole geo-political situation, ignoring social equality issues, that's about the only thing we've inched forward in since then.

The way Obama implemented this universal healthcare had major problems that even his fellow democrats detected from the beginning. It destroys free market capitalism among the insurers and at the same time redistributes wealth to the poor and expedites the destruction of the middle class. This could have been done right. The single-payer option was proposed by many intelligent congressmen but Obama sought to make a few industry players BIG WINNERS.

Single payer was negotiated out w Republicans. Remember the ddeath panel fear mongering? Was around then. Ultimately they should have kept it In and say fuck the right wing. I guess they needed those zero votes in the house and those 50+ repeal votes.
