A serious post about duping

Certainly not demanding anything here. I know the staff are all volunteers and do not get paid. This is why I hate to see something happen to fuck with all of the hard work that they have put in. I just think that these DDoS attacks have been going on for a week now and there have been some nasty player on player incidents because of this. I would hate to see people lose their hard earned stuff because of duping or what have you. Shouldn't the community have a right to know just a little bit?

Rogean - I am not sure what if anything you know about this, but if you do know something, can you ignore Loly long enough to just say something to the community?

On the topic of DDoS'ing.. I'll say this (and I'm not confirming nor dismissing any claims right now), but think of this. If someone wanted to Dupe, they do it for personal gain.. whether to sell or whatever. If they're going to sell it, they want people playing the server to sell it to. If the DDoS'ing was entirely for the purpose of duping, then why would they only ddos (confirmed by my graphs) during prime time? They would benefit more by ddosing off prime time, duping items then, causing less inconvenience so that people aren't getting fed up, so they have more clients to sell to.

Just my immediate thoughts, so with that known I still have to consider that the DDoS is intended to hurt the population of the server as much as possible, for what reasons are still speculative.

Again, I'm not confirming nor dismissing any theories atm.

Safety in numbers. You choose a time where a high volume of trades are happening simultaneously. That way it is more difficult for you to identify the culprit (and clearly they are being successful at it)

A lot of us would really like it if you would come back to our project to help investigate the DDoS problem. Your personal enmity with various people on this server aside, you do have a certain duty to address this issue beyond the ad hominem fallacies committed against Loly (deserving or no) and passing your time on the RnF forums just to address said enmity in order to placate the perception that you are being impugned unjustly.
