Yes, and they have made pretty decent money doing it. Not like millions of dollars like the WSOP players, but a few of the best players have made 300K+ over their magic pro days. They also get free air travel and appearance fees to locations all over the world, just for playing the game.

Heard that. Magic is actually really expensive, too, especially if you play a lot of sealed deck or booster draft. You can cash out at the end, though; I pulled about $30K out of my collection when all was said and done. I'm just going to pretend that was profit and ignore all the money I spent on travel and entry fees.
