I'm seeing about 3,000 active players on Phini the last few days. Come join before GoD!

GoD is a great expac, as is Omens.

Why is GoD a great expac? Because, for all of its faults, it catered specifically to the bleeding edge raid scene and the atmosphere really took you somewhere.

Not only were the NPCs difficult to look at, but the raids were equally as difficult.

That is all you really need to know about GoD live. Will it challenge the modern guild in 2017? Doubtful? But its worth experiencing again if you missed it the first time. The raids are very ethereal and unlike any other expansion in EQ.

Don't forget the NAMES of the mobs were hard to look at

Done many of the LDoN raids?

The only one where I felt like "oh I better not just roll my face across the keyboard" was the final boss in the pet proc aug one in Guk. Everything else was pretty facerolly.

Really wish they would remove some of the innate DPS AAs that are out of era and make mighty buff not fuck with pet aggro. Would be more classic for sure if they did both of those things.
If you were raiding end content at time, LDON was weak sauce. Only appealed to those with more than one foot on the aspie range.

Yeah, LDoN is pretty god damn boring in Time Gear. The exp is shitty(not that anyone needs exp anymore) and the grind to max your aug doesnt seem worth it to me. I suppose its BiS for quite a while but jesus do these things get repetitive, and ive done less than 10 so far. Now, this is in TIME gear. If you go into a lvl 65 hard guk or MM with bazaar gear, and not enough AA, you probably will have a bad time. I've joined a few PUGs just to make things more exciting, and it does, but your average rando is a total shitbird with no clue whats going on. This gets old quickly as well. The raids might be cool if you do the right ones. Only did one so far and apparently it was the longest one possible. We got 6 pretty cool augs at the end, but it took over an hour, and it was pretty mindless.

I've done about 80-90 LDoN missions. Got all my spells and 3 of the 40 mana Augs. Needa figure out what other Augs I want soon as well. Have tons of points just sitting there waiting to be spent.

Yea most LDoN raids are just glorified trash clears. I for one appreciate them because I will get max AA banked and max EXP before GoD when real raids appear.

Gonna be good. I think the real race is gonna be who completes KodTaz progression in order to request Ikkinz Raids first. After that the top tier guilds should be able to roll through the raids. But what will be most interesting is to see how many guilds beat Uqua, Inktuta, Txevu and Tacvi in era.

I'd love if they removed Destructive Fury 1-3 and Innate XXXX AA lines because they are out of era to get us into more correct DPS brackets. Make the raids that much harder.

But cruely, it was the only way to acquire some unique abilities... the LDoN raids had some augs with considerable chunks of AC on them too. Cruel EQ!

On the pro side, Ldon launch emptied plane of fire out so I was able to gimp my warrior in and level him a little.

Also, you can max the Aug easily by getting missions with 2 lvl 65 toons logged in out of a group of 6. This gives you a lvl 20 instance you can blow thru in five minutes.

On the con side, it's hard getting a group on a non 65 warrior.

God Dald how many times are you going to post the same thing before you understand that EVERY raid will fold over like nothing? There is no question of what guilds will be able to do what. The raids are all blindingly easy compared to what raiders have done in other games now. The only question is how many guilds will fall apart as the cascade fail from all the people quitting. This was the era that killed the EQ people actually remember fondly.

No one is going to fail these raids. But guilds are gonna fail to continue to exist.
Shut up Mistle, LDON is a great time to start on a TLP server. Daldean himself said so.

Pop going up, best expansion just launched -- great time to enjoy Phinny folks, onwards and upwards [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
